Sesvennagruppe: Piz Sesvenna (3025 m)
Der Namensgeber und zugleich höchste Punkt der Sesvennagruppe ist der Piz Sesvenna (3025 m) selbst. Wie bei der Besteigung des Piz Cristanas führt die Anstiegsroute auch hier zunächst zum Sesvennajoch und danach auf den kleinen Gletscher, der zum blockigen Gipfelgrat führt.
The highest peak of the Sesvenna Range is Piz Sesvenna (3025 m) himself. Similar to the ascent of Piz Cristanas one has to climb the Sesvenna Saddle first. The only glacier hike in this area takes us to the rocky summit ridge which is not really difficult but requires caution.
Der Weg zum Piz Sesvenna führt zunächst auf das Sesvennajoch, das man nach einer Stunde Aufstieg von der Sesvennahütte erreicht. Kurz vor dem Joch befindet sich ein kleiner Bergsee in dem sich der Föllerkopf spiegelt.
It's again the Sesvenna Saddle we have to climb (one hour from the Sesvenna Hut) before we can enter the Sesvenna Glacier and finally the reach the summit of Piz Sesvenna. Just below the saddle there is a small lake reflecting the outline of Föllerkopf.

Rast am Sesvennajoch. Die Schuttströme zeigen das Ausmass früherer Vergletscherung. In Bildmitte der Piz Plazer (3104m ) westlich des Piz Sesvenna. Vom Sesvennajoch kann man den gesamten Gletscheranstieg erkennen. Man quert den Gletscher diagonal von links unten (kurzer Abstieg vom Joch) nach rechts oben. In der Einsattelung ganz rechts betritt man den Blockgrat zum Sesvenna Gipfel. Links der Muntpitschen (3162 m).

From the Sesvenna Saddle the entire glacier ascent can be observed. The glacier is traversed from down left (short descent from the saddle) diagonally to the right. The gap to the right is the place to leave the glacier and to enter the rocky summit ridge. The summit on the left side is Muntpitschen (3162 m).
Bei einem früheren Besuch der Sesvennahütte gab es nach sommerlichem Neuschneefall winterliche Verhältnisse. Der Sesvennagletscher ist eine leichte Gletscherwanderung. Grundsätzlich sollte man schneebedeckte Gletscher nie unangeseilt betreten. Im Zweifelsfall frägt man beim Hüttenwirt nach den Verhältnissen.
Even in summer the conditions can change quickly and a few years before we found quite an amount of snow after a summer snowfall. The Sesvenna Glacier is an easy glacier hike but despite this fact a snow-covered glacier should never be crossed unroped. Information about the actual conditions can always be obtained from the landlord of the Sesvenna Hut.
Solange der Gletscher mit Schnee bedeckt ist, bietet der Übergang auf den Fels keine Schwierigkeiten. Der Blockgrat zum Gipfel verlangt Trittsicherheit.
As long as the glacier is covered with snow there are no difficulties to get back on the rock ridge leading to the summit. The ridge itself requires caution.
