Goecha La Trek: Dzongri -> Goecha La

Singalila Range / Dzongri - Dzongri / Goecha La - Goecha La / Gangtok

Auf dem oberhalb von Dzongri gelegenen 'Holy Hill' erleben wir bei Sonnenaufgang ein fantastisches Panorama mit Kabru, Kantsch und Pandim. Nun geht es das Prek Chu Tal aufwärts bis zum herrlich gelegenen heiligen Samathi-See in ca. 4300 m Höhe. Von hier aus beginnt der Höhepunkt dieser Wanderung mit dem Aufstieg zum 4940 m hoch gelegenen Goecha La, wo wir uns dem Südgipfel des Kantsch bis auf ca.10 km nähern und uns eine beeindruckende Bergkulisse umgibt.

On top of 'Holy Hill' a short way above Dzongri we have a phantastic panorama covering Kabru, Kangchenjunga and Pandim. Following the Prek Chu Valley we finally reach the beautifully situated Samati Lake at about 4300m. Surrounded by a magnificent mountain scenery we start the ascent to Goecha La (4940m), the highlight of our trek with Kangchenjunga only 10 kms away.

Dzongri (4010m) - Thangsing (3950m)

Zwischen Dzongri und Thangsing ist der Pandim (6691m) immer im Blickfeld.

Between Dzongri and Thangsing Pandim (6691m) is dominating the valley.
Unser Lagerplatz in Thangsing liegt inmitten einer grossartigen Hochgebirgslandschaft auf ca. 3950m.

Der Blick in Richtung Goecha La erklärt auch den Namen, der übersetzt 'das verschlossene Tor' bedeutet.

Mittlerweile gut akklimatisiert beginnen wir den Aufstieg zum Goecha La.
